Value, Clarity, and One Call to Action

A lot of times we get hung up on giving all the information, getting everything across so we’re not misunderstood. People have plenty of information in the world, and they can find it if they really want to look for it. What we can do is make things simple for them.

So we give them the value, the clarity, and the call to action.

Value

That’s the whole point of the website: to express what the value is of the thing we do, in a really clear way. Go beyond just your job title and tell what is good about what you do in particular.

Clarity

Then we give clarity. A lot of times people overdo it on the clarity. If I do a magic show, then all I need for clarity is “I do a magic show.” If I do a magic show and I also walk around at parties doing magic tricks, I just need to say that. Two sentences.

One call to action

After the value and the clarity, we give them a call to action. We just get out of their way and let them take action.

If we don’t give our users a simple call to action, they don’t know what to do, and they feel anxious. Mr. Piggy gets one cue and one treat. Your website visitor should too. It’s a service to the people who use our website: reduce the menu and just get them to contact us.

One call to action. They’re clear on what it is, and they understand what the value of that is to them.

More on this: one purpose websites, what goes on a one page website, and using ethos to show value. Watch Mr. Piggy demonstrate on Instagram.
