Fast Websites Book More Gigs

The time it takes for somebody to see your website is huge. I want to tell you that because people want to put animations and different stuff on their websites. With an animation, you’re waiting for it to load, or you’re waiting for the thing to come to fruition. When people are waiting for that stuff, it costs you a lot.

53% of people leave a website on their phone if it hasn’t loaded in three seconds. If they haven’t gotten to the point of it, they leave.

You can gain 2.5 times the conversions by cutting from five seconds of loading to one second.

Amazon determined they could lose $7.2 billion per year in the blink of an eye. The time it takes you to blink costs them money in conversions. And it costs you. Even if you’re a small freelancer, you are still losing attention, because people don’t have that much focus.

Get them the important information right away

We want a page that’s fast loading. It immediately comes up, gets to the point of what the value is, and shows them the important things. We don’t have things scrolling in and flashing through. It’s done, loaded, right in front of them, ready for them to appreciate it. Then they can get to your call to action. In a few seconds, they can be clicking on your email address. That’s the point.

The bulk of an elephant and the memory of an elephant

Internet browsers like Safari and Chrome remember a website. That was a solution to a problem the internet created. People started making big, bloated websites that needed to load faster, so the browsers remembered what was on the website and it would load faster the next time somebody viewed it. So it has the bulk of an elephant and the memory of an elephant.

The easy solution is to make a website that’s fast, that’s small, that loads quickly, and has all the same stuff. If you make a website through WordPress or Wix or something, it’s going to be huge, because it does a lot of unnecessary stuff. If you build it slim, it loads right away.

My websites are not remembered in the browser. They load fresh every single time. That means your people are always seeing the newest version of your website. You are always seeing the newest version of your website. That’s the way the internet was originally supposed to work.
